Star of the popular 2007 ITV and ITV2 television reality series, WAGS’ Boutique, Nicola Tappenden (aka Nicola T) first rose to fame in 2003 when she won the first-ever‘Page 3 Idol’ competition in The Sun newspaper. After winning the contest, she starred regularly on ‘Page 3′ to become one of the most successful ‘Page 3′ models ever. Nicola soon built a name as a celebrity glamour model and appeared in photo shoots and interviews with most of the UK’s lads’ magazines and tabloids including Zoo, Nuts, Boys Toys, Daily Star, News Of The World and Loaded.
In 2006, she began dating West Ham FC footballer Bobby Zamora and her status changed from glamour model pin-up to footballer’s girlfriend/WAG. It wasn’t long before she started receiving press coverage as a ‘WAG’. In mid-2007, Nicola entered the Miss Great Britain beauty contest as Miss Croydon. In late 2007, ITV approached Nicola to star in the 8-week reality television series, WAG’s Boutique. The TV show raised Nicola’s celebrity status and she graced the pages of most of the women’s and celebrity publications including The Daily Mail, OK!, New, Now, Reveal, Daily Mirror and more! After WAG’s Boutique, the image-conscious Nicola starred in the fitness DVD ‘WAGs Workout’ – which was a No.1 bestseller in the UK’s fitness DVD sales chart in 2008.
Towards the end of filming for WAG’s Boutique, Nicola split with Bobby Zamora. However, she kept her ‘WAG status’ thanks to a new relationship with hunky Crewe Alexander FC footballer Simon Walton. The couple, who have been together for two years and plan to get married in 2010, have a 1-year-old daughter together called Poppy-Belle.
Throughout 2009, Nicola has continued to work as a WAG/celebrity model on numerous TV and radio shows and within the UK press. Due to the success of WAG’s Boutique she continued selling the much sought after GOSH hoodies in aid of Great Ormond Street Childrens Hospital on her very own website www.deliciouscouture.com She has even designed an exciting range of hoodies and and t-shirts while still raising money for Help For Heroes and The Eve Appeal (for Ovarian Cancer). Proving that she’s more than just a pretty face – Nicola has also trained as a TV presenter and had small acting roles in British movies including Deuce Bigalow: European Gigolo.
This bubbly, fun, cheeky, down-to-earth and multi-talented beauty has some exciting TV projects in the pipeline for early 2010. She also has plans to show off her singing talents with the release of her debut dance/club single in early 2010 – guest featuring the Grammy-Award winning rapper and TV star Coolio.
